Karen Power has successfully coordinated and managed blog tours for authors with great results -- book sales, new opportunities, e-zine/newsletter subscriptions, and insight and tips to help maximize the efforts of your blog tour...and more for the Author.

If you have a book that you'd like to promote via a Blog Tour, here's what Karen will do as your Blog Tour Coordinator:

1. Contact her existing blog owner connects to include on Blog Tour

2. Research additional blogs for appropriateness to include on Blog Tour (may also include pod casts, e-zines, or online magazines)

3. Coordinate the development of an email to invite blog owners to participate in Blog Tour

4. Send out Blog Tour invitation to blog owners

5. Coordinate with blog owners to setup dates for the Blog Tour

6. Develop Blog Tour Itinerary

7. Coordinate with Author to mail the book to blog owners (books are mailed by the Author at their expense)

8. Coordinate a list of questions and answers for the blog owners to choose from for their posts (Author to create questions and answers. Author to write opening/closing remarks to personalize for each blog, as needed.)

10. Coordinate sending the list of questions and answers to and receiving responses from blog owners

11. Coordinate with Blog Owners posting blog interview on the requested days of the blog tour

12. Provide Blog Tour Notebook to Author with all pertinent blog info for the tour (itinerary, and other info you'll capture during the Blog Tour)

13. Provide timeline of Blog Tour activities along with itinerary of blog stops

14. Create online itinerary that the Author can link their web site to for additional promotion - see: http://www.christianspeakerservices.com/css_resources.htm#blogtour

15. Act as liaison, as needed, between blog owners and Author during the Blog Tour

NOTE: We cannot guarantee a certain number of blog posts on your tour. We strive to get at least one blog post per day of the tour -- multiple posts if the Author is willing as requests are made. Response also depends on the name recognition of the Author, and/or the topic of the book as it applies to a general audience.

What is a Blog Tour?

Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject; others function as more personal online diaries. Many are associated with online newsletters or e-zines. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. As of September 2007, blog search engine Technorati was tracking more than 106 million blogs. That means on any given day there are millions of blog owners who must post fresh and original content on their blog or in their online newsletter.

A Blog Tour is an opportunity for blog owners to host special guests on their blog. This hosting can be carried out in various ways from posting personalized Q&A, to allowing the guest to write a journal entry for the appointed day. Some special guests are asked to respond to reader comments, and others appear in live chat rooms associated with the particular blog. An organized Blog Tour also allows readers to travel from one blog to another with the special guest. When combined with the release of a new book or product, a Blog Tour can introduce an author to countless readers around the world.
