In general, we consider communicators (vocalist, musician, personality trainer, comedian, speaker) who:
- are authors with published books, represented by a record label, or other professional association credentials;
- are seasoned veterans in a specific area (vocalist, musician, personality trainer, comedian, speaker).
We get very few requests for local or non-published speakers. Our event planners are looking for communicators who have name recognition to draw a crowd. (If you are in the beginning stages of developing your national speaking, we are probably not the right agency for you.);
- currently have professional quality speaker promo/press kit that includes: CD's or DVD's, speaker bio/promo sheet, professional head shots/publicity photos, and other materials;
- are serious about the calling of God on their life and ministry;
- can clearly express what distinguishes them from others (i.e. their brand or what makes them unique);
- understand and implement the business and marketing aspects of a speaking and writing business/ministry;
- are actively marketing, promoting and seeking publicity for their business, ministry, books, and other products;
- are actively working in their areas of expertise (speaking, writing, comedy, music, etc.);
- are working on future projects (i.e. the last book/product released is less than 2 years old, and they may have a new book/product releasing soon or they may already have a contract for the next one);
- have a professional web site with their product for sale;
- have set speaking fees and are being paid for their speaking events;
- are continually seeking opportunities to develop professionally both their skills and their business/ministry.
These downloadable recorded series and workshops will help each speaker considering representation with CSS understand what it takes to have a viable speaking ministry/business.
We have found that most communicators did not set out to have a business, they just simply wanted to share their message. However, without a solid infrastructure that's based on sound business principles, many communicators get "stuck" for a lack a knowledge of how and when to move forward.
These teleseminars and workshops will help to ensure that you not only have a solid business/ministry in place, they will also help to ensure that you are indeed ready to partner with a speaking agency/bureau.
