Linda Newton

"I believe that in today's culture we're faced with rejection, depression, abuse, death, and heart-break. In the face of this, Jesus offers us abundant life, but we can't always see past our pain and access His abundance. My passion is to empower people to see themselves through God's eyes and embrace the vitality he has to offer in Christ." ~ Linda Newton

Speaking God's heart with warmth, enthusiasm, and stories filled with wisdom and humor, Linda Newton offers new understanding to what it means to be loved by God. Linda is a speaker, counselor, educator, women's director, and pastor's wife. After graduating from Azusa Pacific University, Linda and her husband Bruce, began pastoring a church with only thirty-five people in attendance. Now, over a thousand people call Sierra Pines Church home. As a speaker, her passion is to communicate God's love. As a counselor, her focus is to illuminate God's hope. As a women's leader, her goal is to create a compelling program that will connect your group with Christ.

I find no greater thrill than to introduce Christ as Savior to people who
don't know Him, and to help those who do to a greater understanding
of His transforming power in their lives every day.

Extreme Makeover - Inside Edition

American's just can't get enough of television's newest craze for makeover shows. Just like we enjoy watching an ugly duckling transformed into a beautiful swan, Jesus takes great delight in transforming us by the renewing of our minds. Linda weaves scripture with the stages of the butterfly as she helps you get a check up from the neck up. She will show you how to have a butterfly attitude in a caterpillar world, how to shed the dead skin of "stinkin thinkin", and what to do when you feel stuck under a leaf on the limb of life. You will leave the weekend with the tools of transformation that will help you soar like the beautiful creature that God intended you to be! This theme can be used for a 30-45 minute session at a ladies outreach event or with four sessions at a women's or pastors' wives weekend.

Can You Hear Me Now? My Sheep Hear My Voice

"Americans are so busy they are honking at their own tail lights!" quoted one author in a current women's magazine. Do you find that your plate gets so full that God gets crowded out and you don't feel as close to Him as you used to? The Bible paints a powerful parallel of the shepherd's care for his sheep and God's care and nurture for us. Using inspiring teachings from David, John and Jesus Himself, Linda uncovers the keys to clearing out the clutter that keeps us from connection with Christ. Linda makes God's Word applicable and practical as she teaches you how to idle down and hear the gentle whisper. This is an effective topic for a leadership conference, a singles or women's retreat. It can be divided into two to four 35-50 minute sessions, depending on the needs of your group.

God's Got Your Back - Shine Where You Are

Have you ever felt like God has you on the shelf? Then it is easy to get trapped in the quicksand of "if only" thinking. Using scripture, personal experiences, and powerful stories, Linda shows you the steps for surviving God's waiting room. Learn from Linda how to keep walking in the light, no matter what your circumstances, by staying connected, staying current, and staying committed and how to end up winning, like Esther, who shined her light for an entire generation. A great theme for a women's or singles retreat with four 45-60 minute sessions.

From Desperate Housewives to Joy Filled Lives - Enter Into Joy

Arthur Schlesinger, Jr. stated, "Our society is marked by inextinguishable discontent." We have become excellent at making a living, but too often we fail at making a life. Yet, all the while Jesus offers us abundant life. Explore with Linda the four "P's" of Perspective, Personal Inventory, Prayer, and Purpose that will lead to peace and satisfaction. Combining her counseling background and her own experience, she communicates what it means to cast your cares on Christ and find contentment in Him. You will walk away with a new understanding of how to access the abundant life Jesus offers. This topic works as a 30-45 minute talk for a ladies night out or with four sessions at a women's retreat.

You're a Princess of the King - Rest in His Love

God is crazy about you! His Word makes that very clear. But many times we move through life reacting as though God is "Dirty Harry in the Sky" waiting around for us to make a mistake as He hovers over the "smite" button on His cosmic computer. Let Linda show you the path to push past perfectionism, find faith in fear, and follow through with forgiveness-for others and for yourself. An empowering message of hope that helps you see yourself for the precious child of God He created you to be. This is a great theme for Mother/Daughter retreats.

Communication Drive:
The Road to Caring Communication

"Women! Who can understand them?" he shouts as he heads out to the garage. "Men are such jerks!" she laments as he rushes past her, slamming the door on his way out. Face it-- sometimes effective communication can be elusive. Linda has provided tools for couples in conflict at her counseling office for over fifteen yeas. She has empowered and encouraged them to walk the path from contention to connection. Whether you are a spouse, a parent, or even an employer, learn from Linda how to "Talk With the Hand" so that people will listen. Find out the techniques for "Hearing With your Heart," and understand how to "Choose Your Hills to Die On." Discover the tools that will help you dump your bad habits and lighten your load on the "Road to Caring Communication!" This topic is effective for couple's retreats or events.

Get a Grip - Stress Management for the New Millennium

"All stressed out and no one to choke?" We laugh when we see that on a tee shirt but we've all felt that way on those hectic days in our lives. The Bible has a lot to say about resting in God's peace. From years of counseling stressed out women, Linda wants to show you from Scripture, God's top ten ways to live stress-less days! This topic works for a focus on women's health issues, as part of a retreat weekend, or by itself.

Uniquely You

"I have four kids and they are all so different. I get no duplicates or instructions," one weary mother bemoans in the counseling office. But there are some instructions for understanding your children and all of the other people God puts into your life. These insights will even give you a better understanding of yourself! Would you like to know how to motivate people around you, how to bring out the best in them, and how to bring out the best in yourself? Then this class is for you. This is a great bonus afternoon class for a weekend retreat, a couple's class/retreat, or a single's event.

Girlfriends' Weekend or A Weekend Among Friends

Are you so busy taking care of everyone else that you don't have time to invest in you? A friend is a gift you give yourself. With a fresh spin on the story of Ruth and Naomi, Linda reminds us of how a quality friendship can enrich our everyday lives. Using the tools of her counseling trade she will teach you how to be a better friend to those people God brings across your path and even how to be a healthier friend to yourself! Above all, you will be challenged and inspired to renew your faith in the best friend you can ever have-Jesus Christ. This is a great topic for an outreach event or a weekend of promoting friendships in your women's group.
